You’ll head northeast along the coast to Dihamri Marine Protected Area, your first overnight stop. 🌊 About Dihamri: Dihamri is a coastal marine sanctuary home to over 200 species of marine life, including parrotfish, sea cucumbers, octopus, and hard/soft corals. It’s one of the best snorkeling and diving spots on the island and is part of Socotra’s push for sustainable ecotourism. Activities: Snorkeling and diving in clear, coral-rich waters. Guided eco-walks with marine experts. Evening relaxation with a beach bonfire. Overnight: Camping at Dihamri in eco-friendly tents with a sea breeze and stars above.
Kalisan Canyon & Arher Beach

Day 2 – Kalisan Canyon & Arher Beach

⛰️ About Kalisan Canyon: A dramatic natural gorge carved through the Haghier Mountains, Kalisan Canyon features freshwater streams, natural pools, palm trees, and lush vegetation rarely found elsewhere on Socotra. It’s a great spot for a refreshing swim and a light trek. ⛰️ About Arher Beach: Arher Beach is where massive white sand dunes cascade down to meet the turquoise sea. A freshwater spring flows across the beach, creating an unusual meeting of ecosystems—saltwater and fresh—making it a favorite spot for both locals and migratory birds. Activities: Short trek and swimming in Kalisan’s natural pools. Climb the iconic Arher sand dune (~150 meters). Enjoy traditional tea with Socotri nomads. Overnight: Beach camping at Arher Beach, with the soothing sound of waves and the dramatic landscape around you.
Hoq Cave & Arher Beach

Day 3 – Hoq Cave & Arher Beach

⛰️ About Hoq Cave: Hoq Cave is one of Socotra’s largest and most archaeologically significant caves, stretching over 3 km into a limestone cliff. Inside, you’ll find ancient South Arabian inscriptions, pottery fragments, stalactites, and underground rock pools. The hike up takes around an hour and offers great views. Activities: Early morning hike to Hoq Cave (moderate difficulty). Explore inside with headlamps—be prepared for damp and uneven terrain. Learn about ancient trade routes and Socotra’s historical role between Africa and Arabia. Afternoon: Return to Arher Beach to rest, swim, and enjoy the peaceful setting. Overnight: Second night camping at Arher Beach.
Homhil & Omaq Beach

Day 4 – Homhil Plateau & Omaq Beach

🌿 About Homhil Nature Sanctuary: Homhil is a botanical treasure trove, known for its dragon blood trees, frankincense, and bottle trees. The trail here leads to a natural infinity pool, perched above a cliff, overlooking the sea. Homhil offers one of the best places to see Socotra’s endemic plant life. ⛰️ About Omaq Beach: A lesser-known beach offering total serenity, Omaq is tucked away from tourist routes. It’s perfect for solitude, reflection and swimming. Activities: Hike through surreal dragon blood tree landscapes. Rest and swim in the Homhil infinity pool. Continue to Omaq Beach to unwind and enjoy a coastal sunset. Overnight: Wild camping at Omaq Beach.
Douqeb & Dixsam Plateau

Day 5 – Douqeb Cave & Dixsam Plateau

It’s a good spot for those who enjoy exploring raw, untouched nature. 🌄 About Dixsam Plateau: One of Socotra’s most iconic landscapes, Dixsam Plateau is covered with dragon blood trees and bordered by Daerhu Canyon, which drops dramatically into a lush valley. The plateau is also home to Bedouin communities who live traditionally off the land. Activities: Guided exploration of Douqeb Cave. Trek through the dragon blood tree forests of Dixsam. Visit a local homestead or goat herders. Overnight: Camping on the plateau, with sweeping views and cool mountain air.
Qalansiya & Detwah

Day 6 – Qalansiya & Detwah Lagoon

🐟 About Qalansiya: Qalansiya is a traditional fishing village with stone homes and quiet charm. It’s also the gateway to some of the island’s most spectacular coastal areas. ⛰️ About Detwah Lagoon: Detwah Lagoon is a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, known for its shallow, turquoise waters, and diverse marine life, including stingrays and pufferfish. The surrounding cliffs and dunes add to the cinematic beauty. Activities: Explore the tidal flats and spot marine wildlife. Meet the famous local “cave man” Abdullah, who offers cultural stories and hidden cave tours. Sunset walk along the lagoon. Overnight: Camp beside the calm waters of Detwah Lagoon.
Shuab Beach

Day 7 – Shuab Beach via Boat
